How to reset standing desk

In general, the standing desk reset process may vary between different standing desk brands and models. Although the general procedure might be the same, there may be slight variations depending on the standing desk model you have—resetting an Effydesk standing desk will require a different set of processes compared to resetting a MotionGrey standing desk, for instance. So, the first thing to do is to check your manufacturer’s manual or go to the manufacturer’s website to learn the standing desk reset process for your particular desk.

Now, if you want a general guide, here’s something from the Standing Desk Lab.

If you want to do a quick reset, follow these steps:

• On the control panel, find the down arrow button.
• Press and hold the said button until the desk reaches its lowest height.
• Once the desk is in that height, release the button.
• Then, press the up and down button together to exit reset mode.

If you want to do a manual reset:

• Unplug the desk from the power source.
• Find the control box and press and hold the down button.
• While you are holding the down button, plug your standing desk back into the outlet.
• Once the desk reaches the lowest height, you may now release the down button.
• Then, press the up and down button together to exit reset mode.

If you want to reset your standing desk using the control panel:

• Find the control panel and press and hold the down arrow button.
• While you are holding the down arrow button, also press and hold the up arrow button.
• Once the standing desk reaches the lowest height, release both buttons.
• Then, press the up and down button together to exit reset mode.

Doing a standing desk reset using any of the steps above can bring your standing desk back to life. However, just in case you notice that your standing desk is still malfunctioning, there are some other things you can do.

Check that your standing desk is not overloaded.

If the desk is carrying so much more weight than it can handle, it may refuse to move.

Check that there is no obstruction to its path.

Standing desks have a sensor that can detect when there are obstructions to their up and down movement. When they detect something, they stop moving to prevent any collision or accident. So, check your environment for this possibility.

Make sure that there is power going to the desk.
